  • Ash vs. Maple

This is related to the sticky feeling I have on my hands.
I always ( incorectly ) scour clothed my cue.
Now,having played with a very " woody " feeling cue,
all other cues, especially new ones feel sticky.
Is the solution a glove,or perhaps a maple cue or just clean, clean, clean.
    Thanx..........BB

maybe just turn your "bridge" a little bit to the right (if your a right handed player) this worked for me.

otherwise use a cue towel every few shots like me

unclevit taught me ways to make a cue superbly smooth

      1) clean it often with Cuetec cue polish
      2) after each play, wet a cloth, squeeze the sh"t out of it until there is no more squeezable water left. and wipe the cue from top to bottom
      3) immediately use a dry cloth to wipe of the wet water on the cue

      shud feel smooth now.

NOTE: after doing step 1 you dont need to do step 2 and 3.but after each play you need to do step 2 and 3

Maybe you have sweaty palms like i do, mate.
As for me, i usually clean my cue with a moist cloth after my games at the club before hanging it up in the house.
When the cue is free of oil, it will not have anything stick to it n thus it will not cause any stickiness.

        What you can do is;
        - Prepare a moist cloth to clean the cue thruly before your game.
        - Clean your bridging hand & cue when the stickiness starts.

All the above should counter your problem.
If all fails, get a glove.
