Handspliced cues are normally sold at higher prices in the market. So I have reason to believe that cuemakers are willing to use better grade shaft to build handspliced cue. At least this assumption should hold for the same brand. For instance, a handspliced Master cue should play better than a machine spliced Master cue. But a machine spliced cue from a good brand may however play better than a handsliced cue from a not so good brand.
