  • Merrall Match Cues

While browsing around on ebay I came across a pair of Merrall Match cues.

I have never come across them before, have never heard the name before in fact.

Just thought I'd put it to the forum, someone out there must have some information on these cues??

The asking price is £500 for the pair so they must be held in high regard by the owner. As I don't know anything about them, I don't know how fair this price is.

Anyone got any info on them????

Fred Merrall & Co are a long established (1896) billiard table manufacturer based in Manchester. They supplied the table for the World Snooker semi-final between F. Davis v George Chenier at the Town Hall, Oldham in 1950. Cue looks later than that, though I'm no expert on cues.

Reference the sellers remark about it being modelled on a player from 1910, the only very high breaks being made at that date were by George Gray and the replicas of his cue produced at the time, don't look anything like this.
