I Have a Pearadon & Fletcher Tudor that I need altering for my 10year old son,
who's the best person; (doesn't have to be the cheapest to carry out this) but I want the work to be 1st class.

Almost every cuemaker is busy right now, but some have time i believe.

I hear a lot of people are happy with any work carried out by craftsmans cues

I would also recommend Craftsman.Very approachable, just go in the shop, explain what you want and listen to the advice (some alterations may not be practical).Snooker and pool table in the shop, therefore try before you buy is an option. As a cue maker maybe a custom cue from scratch might be in order.I know his mini butts fit the shaft to make a 48" approx cue so that could be the young ones "starter cue" and as he grows put the correct main butt on.He could then "grow into " the cue and still be used to playing with the one tip size and shaft, obviously the length and weight would change but the "feel" of the shaft should be similar.I get my cues done there and I know "perpetual boredom" on this forum (reference oldcues website) has work done there as well.No complaints, enough said.Hope this helps.p.s.If the Peradon is a 3/4 possibly get Dave to fit one of his 3/4 joints £20ish ,then buy one of his mini butts £18ish et voila, same cue but shorter and you retain main butt for when he grows up.

It depends where you are in the UK, but if you need a cue altering then the best guy I know of is Dave Coutts - his work is always 1st class.

Craftsman have a good rep, so does Bob Ackers, but I've seen some of his work that was VERY expensive for the job carried out, and, tbh, it wasn't well-done at all. It had to be sent to another person after to be corrected and re-finished. I wasn't too impressed ...

If I were you I'd go with Dave, and I wouldn't mess about with mini-butts and then put on the 'real' butt when he's older as the balance will change so much that it'd be difficult to play with, but you could also ask a cuemaker's advice on the way to go.

                        Hope this helps!

hello keith in france, i'm sure we met last year when you brought a team over to the welsh festival of pool in trecco bay, porthcawl.

i played you in a county match, against Aberdare, we were on first in front of the cue sport cameras, i was wearing a french top lol.

Hey Paz, I remember you alright. We played twice, if I remember correctly? I gave you the 1st one, but you won the 2nd game all by yourself, right? Lol

How's things? Will you be going to Trecco Bay again this year? I'd love to, and I think the team's going to go, but I'm going back into hospital for my knee (again!) right over the end of November, which is a real shame as I was looking forward to getting my revenge!!

i think it was the pressure of the cameras got to you lolol.

nah mate, just kidding, shame you wont be there.

me and the team will be there again, should be bigger and better again this year.

so you'll have to wait another year for revenge butty
