there is no market here - think like this i know what the 360 cue costs to make and if it cost £45 it would not be a sensible proposition.

Please don't think I am justifying him in any way. Just a few points I thought I might share

      1) He might not even know that it is criminal as ibrahim had mentioned that the guy does not speak any language other than the local one there and he might not know it is a crime to copy designs.
      2) He might be making cues on his own style and just copying famous cue makers for some wanting customers as it might not be a crime in his country
      3) For a guy from Pakistan who does not have any famous players to endorse his cues he would not have had any other way than to copy to attract his initial list of customers.
      4) I am kind of sure that almost all the cue makers might have copied some ideas (However small it might be) at one point of their career till they brought out their distinctive style.

Again as I had mentioned above I am not trying to justify him in any way. But if someone can make me a cue almost exactly like JP with a fraction of the cost I would say why not give it a try.
(Main reason would be that I cannot afford any of the famous English cue makers now in market)
Whoever called snooker 'chess with balls' was rude, but right

There is one thing you can never estimate PQJ that is the cost of very very good quality raw materials in countries like India and Pakistan.

Also the cost of labour there is less than a fraction of what it is here...

So as I had mentioned before you give a very good piece of wood to a guy who knows how use it that you get a masterpiece...

Correct me if I am wrong but the only things you need to make an amazing cue is the perfect wood and a person who knows how to use that wood

          1) He might not even know that it is criminal as ibrahim had mentioned that the guy does not speak any language other than the local one there and he might not know it is a crime to copy designs. the law is the same everywhere!
          2) He might be making cues on his own style and just copying famous cue makers for some wanting customers as it might not be a crime in his country it is, copy designs by all means but the spring in the cue is a patented idea.
          3) For a guy from Pakistan who does not have any famous players to endorse his cues he would not have had any other way than to copy to attract his initial list of customers. other than maybe JP all the uk and thai cue makers started without endorsement from players - quality speaks for itself.
          4) I am kind of sure that almost all the cue makers might have copied some ideas (However small it might be) at one point of their career till they brought out their distinctive style. again i expect so almost every cue design out there was made before any of the current cue makers were born!

Again as I had mentioned above I am not trying to justify him in any way. But if someone can make me a cue almost exactly like JP with a fraction of the cost I would say why not give it a try. it can be the same style, it can't say john parris on it and it can't have a patented spring in it!
(Main reason would be that I cannot afford any of the famous English cue makers now in market)
          see above.

lol in theory thats correct but most who have tried have failed to make a decent cue.

Lets see this how this guy fares. I do agree that the chances are really slim.

And before I was only talking about copying the designs.

I had mentioned that I am not justifying it
(Mainly because of using the patented idea's and having other peoples names on his cues)

Just to set the record straight I donot condone him making replicas of the cue.Nor do I reccomend such practices because the guys who made this worked hard on it's development and no one has the right to copy the cue legally atleast.Thirdly and most important of all it is not my problem what the cuemaker does. That is his headache. When I said that I like his work I did not mean the 360 cue I meant his other cues that he makes.

that makes no sense. if a guy is a child abuser would you take the same line, i am not condoning what he does but he makes good cues! ie i am happy to buy his cues and deal with him his child abuse issue is his problem????
