i've read somewhere thats its not easy to make a cue 60" or longer thats plays as well as a more standard length cue. whats your opinion on this?...

Extremely long cues can be less reliable than shorter (or more standard length) cues yes. It's not ALL about the length, but it is a massive factor in deterniming how good a cue performs when complete.

whats your definition of an extrememly long cue trevor? my current cue is 60.5" which i got extended from 58". it certainly doesnt have the same feel to me as it did before i had the lengthening done.

what length are you comfortable making a cue at and how does too long affect playabililty of a cue?

I don't really want to get inot answering too many questions on this, because it can go on and on and lead to many other questions.

Long is anything above 58.5" in my view, and above 59" is definitely getting very long. I'm not surprised that your cue does not feel the same as it did, and, unless you are well over maybe 6'4" / 6'5" tall, you wouldn't need a cue above 59" long.

As for getting into the playability of longer cues, that's a long topic and depends on other factors also.

the OP asked for a 60in cue, can't see any probs, slow taper can,t see any probs,only problem i see is who to ask to make the cue.

You are right vendetta, it does make one feel a little small. Also, he does not need to use the rest very often, but it is rather tall for playing snooker. It is not comfortable for him.
