There's some good info on balance points in some previous threads that might be worth a look.
I have my own theory, as some of us will know 2 cues weighing exactly the same can feel totally different weights when actually using a cue depending on the balance point, some will like the weight in there hand at the butt, so a lower balance point others with prefer weight thats spread across the whole cue so higher balance point, all depends on what we've been used to & what feels right which will be different for all of us.
What's worked well for me in the past is having the cue the same weight as the balance point eg 16oz cue 16" balance point 17.5oz 17.5" bp this works well between 15oz upto 18oz ( 15" bp to 18" bp ) i'd say any more or less than that generally wouldn't make a nice feeling cue in my opinion, in terms of the balance point.
Just another spin on keith's length theory really, but anything balancing between 16" to 18" should be ok regardless of length or weight on a modern cue.Last edited by CueAntW147; 9 January 2011, 10:21 AM.
