  • Cue weight?

What weight is your cue, also what is the balance point, is it 1pc 2pc or 3/4.....how thick is the butt, tip size? Length All specs.

Also what in your mind is the best weight for a cue and best balance point?

I notice a few cues on here for sale that are 17oz to me that feels like i have nothing in my hand.

I have no idea what my cue is i never ever checked any of its specs im going to get on that later today.

You will find a lot of people use different weight cues but i would guess the most popular would be between 17.5 and 18 oz , dont know for sure it,s just my guess .

It,s irrelevant what weight of cue i think is the best as i think it,s the best weight for me , but as you have asked my specs are
    17.5 oz
    56.75-57 "
    9.6-9.7 mm
    29.5 mm butt
    balance point 17 "

Well balanced cues will feel lighter than cues that are balanced further back .

If you have only used cues approx 19 oz then you would naturally think that its the best weight for you but may try a lighter cue and find it feels better after a while but a bit strange at first .

Nobody can tell you what specs suit you best only you can find that out after trial and error and a bit of experimenting .

My two turned out a little longer than I asked for, but they are ok. Beautifully made.

      1 Piece ash
      58 Inches
      Butt 29.5mm
      Tip 9.8mm
      Weight 18oz
      Balance 18 inches

hi wayner147, my cue specs as follow:

        tip: 9.8mm
        weight: 17.5oz
        balance point: 17.5" from butt
        length: 57.5"
        butt diametre: 29.5mm
        joint: 3/4

in my mind, the feel and balance of the cue are most important. all cues "hit" differently. if you are getting a new one, it is best have a knock about to get a feel of the cue before purchase.

i've often wondered if the balance point equates to the balance of the cue... i mean, the cue can be balanced at XX inches but does that mean the cue weight is well distributed? ... i'm speculating that that's the most tricky part when it comes to making a cue... getting the balance right.
