It is much easier to play 9ball or any other pool game with a 12mm or 13mm pool cue. More cue power than with a snooker cue. Less chance of a miscue on deep screw shots. I realize if one played with nothing but snooker cues all his life, it would take too much time to adjust for a single tournament. It not just about cues anyway, the whole game changes. You need different muscle memory if you want to play to your full potential.
For snooker I use Trevor White maple 9.5mm, for pool Predator 2 Black with 11.75mm Z shaft.

for one tournament maybe your cue will be fine but if im honest i wouldnt buy a snooker cue if i knew it had been used for 9 ball.To me it would be like buying a car of a boy racer!!
