Did you use ash before? If so, what made you decide to go with maple? Not ideal for some people, but I've always used ash and doubt I'd get used to looking down a maple shaft...

I always used ash. I decided to try something different this time, if this cue don't work out I'll change the order on my new TW to ash If its not to late.

              Cue

Cazmac1, Listen to the previous post. Dont make the same mistake as i did, I alway's played with an ASH cue, Then when i had the money i decided to buy a JP Ultimate in (MAPLE) because hardly anyone was useing them at the time. It is a stunning cue and play's very well. But i cant get on with a (MAPLE) cue,(HENSE) it's uder my bed:snooker: Regard's George.

Thanks for the advice guys; I think I will change the order of my new cue back to ash. Because I've managed to pick up a used TW maple for a very good price I have an opportunity to have a good go with a maple before I make my final decision. I’m going to try a maple because I use a lot of side in my game and I'm told that maple shafts have less throw and as a result make side easier to judge. Don't misunderstand me I am very good with using side It a strong point in my game. It’s just finding a cue that actually responds in the way I visualize the shot. As you know this game is all about cue ball control half an inch in position can make the difference between breaking down on 30, or going onto make a frame winning break.
I’m just gutted that my cue never beat the Christmas holiday post, I think the earliest I can expect the cue now is on the 29th. It would be nice to get it before I go back to work so I can put some serious hours in.

                  pictures

Just see if I can get some picture of my new cue up. Sorry I've got no pictures of the shaft. I'll put up some more pictures when the cue arrives.

                                Now that’s just disgusting: eek:

I have been playing; I'm using a Peradon cue that I brought some time back. I shorten the cue to 55.5 inch's, I managed a 48 with it today but kept missing certain types of shot., which I'm convince is down to that missing half an inch.
I’m just focusing on my technique and not worrying to much about the frame scores or breaks. I’m gutted thou as this time of year is normally very good for me for breaks.
I was going to go and buy a JP until the TW cue came up so I put it off.
Still you never know it might turn up tomorrow
