The first hand made cue I ever had was made by Hunt & O'bryne. It had a quick release joint on it but I just couldn't on with it, so I took it back to have it altered (nothing changed there then) the thing is he gave me a loan cue and it was maple and shorter than I was used to. I played with it in the Jester snooker handicap comp in East Acton and I got to the final where I played against Reg cooper, Reg was the local star and a pretty good player.
I ended up winning making a break of 56 inthe final frame the guy was giving me 20 start and went mad afterwards throwing all the toys out of the pram.
God I wish I kept that cue.

Here is the original thread discussing the issue

I dunno why but i just cant get used to a Hunt cue.
They are just too stiff for my liking....

Anyway, i was only introduced to Hunt cue in 2008/9 when a friend ordered a green plate. Later, another friend i knew from the forum who is a collector showed me his collection of Hunt cues (Will Hunt, Hunt & Obyrne etc)

I m pretty lucky to have laid my hands on a few black plates here in Singapore, too bad Robert doesnt wish to work on them as he is very tight with his other orders.

Could anyone please tell me how did Robert Osbourn start? Did he work for Will Hunt before he went on his own, or did Will Hunt join him after he started on his own first?
            Thank you.

Who is kieth and does he still make cues.
I'm a bit disapointed with robert, he a lovey guy but unfortunatly has sold out to the mass producing market of china. I suppose every one has to make a living, it's just a shame to lose such a good cue maker this way.

anyone bought the current Hunt & O'Byrne cues yet? i wonder if they are any good...
planned to order one but now I might have to try others

any suggestions on cues below 500GBP, and rather important, with good customer services and international shipping? because I live in Vietnam

Qiute simply you won't get a cue made from him to your specs. Robert will pass you on to his overseas sellers/agent.

My first Handmade cue was made by Keith Auld , when he had a shop in Wimbledon . Cracking cue , wish i never got rid of it .Remember it had a very low joint on the butt .

I'm not sure about the new Hunt & O'Bryne cues , just know that it has got nothing to do with the Original H & O Cues .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !
