"An example of the cue, made by Peradon and Co that is almost identical to the later Tom Newman champion cue is the Guide Dogs for the Blind cue"
Taken from cues n views, dont know age tho sorry, but made after 2nd World War tho i believe to help injured soldiers. Think it is getting expensive now, or maybe thats its real value ?? seen them sell for around £70 mark before. http://www.cuesnviews.co.uk/andyhunt...nternewman.htm
Thank jrc750, interesting webarticle.
Maybe £70 and £20 for the tin case ;-)
Happy New Year

Agree with John, the cue sells for about £80 usually, the case is pretty worthless (sadly I have about 40 of them, at £20 each I'd be quids in!).
This time of year you have a lot of people at home doing nothing.. except browsing ebay... so sometimes you get some spikey prices.

(yes I know they're not cheap, I didn't intend them to be!..)

A good price for a Guide dogs cue.
£70ish is about normal but it is fairly obvious that the 2nd hand market over the last year has been anything but normal. Last one i saw on ebay went for £50ish within the last 6 months.
These are nice cues, make good players and will hold some value.
You do find them signed quite often as they used to also get given away as prizes during exhibitions back in the 50's. Ive seen 3 now that were signed by Joe Davis, Horace Lindrum, Fred Davis, Sidney Lee and a few others.
