I used to play with 9mil tip until I went and had it tapered down to an 8.5mil; as my mate had an 8mil tip, and I tried a few shots with it and it felt like I could get so much action from the white and loved it so thought I'd go smaller Knocked in my highest break at a tourny a week after changing tip size!

I played with the cue today and had a stinker. The tip seemed to be getting worse and changed shape after every shot. So I changed it and played the last two frames with a new tip although I played much better my confidence was shot by this time. Plus I was still feeling the effects of New Years Eve. This cue I have was not made to my specs but was a cue that I brought just till I get my new cue. The tip seems to be about 9.75, slightly bigger than I'm used too, it is also is a bit heaver than my previous cue and although the length and balance are the same (balance at 17) the cue feels front heavy to me.
The extra weight although small has also thrown my position play out. I brought the cue to see how it played and to help me make up my mind on my final specs. I think this cue is going to take some time to get used to. I have 20 to 24 weeks till my new cue comes so I have time.
