Im in the proccess of uploading my home made cue stratening method, I don’t recommend doing this to a good cue, but as you can see, i did not get the cue perfect but i made it useable...it went from a big big bend to just a small warp that shouldn’t effect one shot. I also am still trying to get it a bit better i striped the finish and had used raw linseed oil and will all it to dry well and repeat.

Craftsman at Kippax may be able to help.I know "perpetual boredom" speaks very highly of their re-furbishment skills, including straightening.Hope this helps.

i have a modified wallpaper stripper that i use but in truth its not the straightening that takes the time it takes a few seconds usually - its having to re finish the cue afterwards!

You use a wallpaper stripper to straighten a cue?
                How does it work?

I know when a gun stock is altered they use boiling hot linseed oil.
Might be a bit harsh for a snooker cue though.

Did you put my "1" up ?

hard to explain - basically like an upside down clothes iron but in this case with 6 close together steam jets.

If you straightened a cue, would it be in the same good smooth condition though?

i wrap the cue in a towel first to protect the finish but even if it needed to be re finished thats not a huge issue.

When straightening a cue this way how likeley is it that it will remain straight (assuming its well looked after), and what what factors, if any, detrmine if the cue will stay true?

some do some don't - wood is a natural thing in the end it will do as it likes!
