lol, i once emailed him after hearing some very good things about his cues, i was going to have a custom cue made for 8 ball pool, his responce wasnt very helpful to be honest and the only thing he asked was how much i wanted to spend, i then emailed him back with a figure of about £300 and never even got another responce!

couldnt have been enough for him lol.

      no they're not. they're easy.

i'm not lying to you mate. it is very difficult to fit these joins well. every 'normal' type of join is a breeze compared to these.

the recessed fitting alone makes it a nightmare compared to standard brass to brass face joins. ask dan shelton if you don't believe what i told you. he tried to 'copy' my 'invisible joint' using my old airlock style join for a customer. he won't be doing it again...

you can be sure now. they are.

the answer is yes. and the fact is, nobody knows but me cos i'm the one who designed them and exclusively use them.

you think i wanted to spend 18 months chopping and changing tools/machinery etc etc. and messing up loads of cues 'perfecting' the technique of fitting them?...

i'm just too busy and can't keep up with all the emails.

i suspect i asked you your budget so i could check if i had anything i could find on the go that would help you out.

i probably didn't find time to check and then forget to get back to you.

      overworked. not unhelpful.

if thats the case, why did i introduce my hustler cues a few years ago, and more recently my shark series for under £200?

it's not about money, it's about doing the best for a customer.

it's quite simple. i am very busy with customers who pay full price for custom made cues. when someone offers around half the full price, they are not my priority, but i still try to help when i can. in fact, there are many who have benefited from being patient with me. and polite in their requests.

i suspect you are confusing 'not very helpful' with 'i did not get what i wanted, when i wanted it, at the price i wanted to pay'...

as for not getting back to you, i apologise. but you're not the only one. as i said above - overworked.

p.s. i only came on here tonight cos i was bored waiting for some computers to back-up. i really wish they had finished earlier...

If I thought you were lying I wouldn't have asked the question on here, I'd have just gone ahead and howked it out. Thanks for the reply, reason I didn't email was that you are clearly so busy.

no problem, just wanna make clear to anyone reading that it is NOT a simple job like ordinary joins are.

i know this cos of all the problems i have had with them.

btw, you won't lose much weight drilling out the ebony. or should i say you will need to drill a long way up the butt to lose just a little bit of noticeable weight. possibly not worth the effort mate. just trying to help you make the right decision...

quite a bite there fair play to you.

i'm guessing you didnt see the lol on the end then eh? was having a laugh, not a pop!!!

the email i sent you was very polite as i remember it, thanking you for your time etc, and definatly didnt expect to get what i wanted at the price i wanted to pay as you put it.

just needed a little help on a cue, and would have been more than happy to pay whatever the price was to get the cue right.

as it happened, i ended up ordering a parris special, waited a very long time, and when it came they'd somehow sent me an ultimate (1237) i think the number was, i thought it was very poor and sold it on ebay to someone from malta making about £250! very bizarre!

still after a cue by the way lol

i think the 'not very helpful' comment blinded me to any lols...

as it happens i am actually very helpful. you just never got past the first stages of getting to know me.

asking how much someone wants to spend is not a case of me deciding if it's enough, it's more finding out how, and if, i can help at that particular time.

anyway, like i said, sorry i never replied. it's not the way i like to do things.

i've heard john parris is very helpful

lol. my email door is open, and i'm coming to the end of clearing my backlog, so i may have something suitable in the not too distant future.

                peace...

yeah very bizarre, i'm positive the ultimate number was 1237, an 8 ball player from malta bought it for silly money!

that's also the time when i realised the fee's ebay charge. ouch lol.

It means "Steve Davis" joint. John Parris designed it I think.

Did you put my "1" up ?
