what's the main purpose of this product ?

This is an "old english" wood conditioning oil.

If the oil can be used on the wood as conditioning, then it can definitely be used as wood protection.

NOTE: Cider will not help your cueing. But it may feel like it does.

Can I use this on my cue ?

cueinhand : Can. But use the light color one on the left. It just cleans and seals the surface. Little, or nothing, will penetrate into the wood if the surface is treated with linseed oil before this. But you can use this oil, no problem. Wipe the excess off before play.

After looking on the Old English website, I think you will do better using raw linseed oil forr you cue.
