I have only this one, completely original (even tip). Plus I'm told its even rarer due top the Silver plaque (were awarded as competition prizes).

What i am looking to find out is

                1. any details about the cue. I know the make when it was made, its rarer than the standard due to the silver plaque (initials of J.A.C 1908). and that it is a machine spliced version, which was before the handspliced version.
                2. if any one has any idea of its value, and such any offers, before I place it ebay.
                3. any one who has a replacement original name plate, or does it not need one to get its true value.

I am open to offers, as I am only a collector of newer cues, and not the antique type.
I have found out that it is a serious collectors piece, and is named as one of the cues that you must have in your collection.

look forward to hearing from you.

                cheers

the cue wasn't in the case at this point, and the radiators were not on either... so please do not worry.

Glover cues across at Moira Furnace could probably make you a new badge.

These cues are rare in machine spliced form. Tony Glover has a machine spliced one that is exactly the same as this one, except the solver plaque of course.
The badge on the machine spliced version reads the other way to the hand spliced, ie if you hold the cue to read the badge the hand spliced cue will face to the left and the machine spliced cue is upside down and faces to the right.

It is hard to value the cue for the following reasons...
                          1. The badge is cracked
Replacing it isnt a good idea as it wont then be original, even if replaced with another original badge (which you wont find). Any changes to an original cue is a bad idea, its unlikely youll fit an original badge and it wont look odd just because it has aged/worn in keeping with the rest of the cue.

                          2. The extra silver plaque.
If it has a date on it then it tends to add value.
If it is just initials then it wont add value, dont think it will lose value either though.
Names and dates add providence to cues which is good, initials are untraceable and thus dont really add any value.

                          3. its rare
Lastly as its a rare cue it should attract a good price but.....machine spliced cues dont tend to fetch alot as they are not as desirable as hand spliced cues.

I think around £130-£150 would be a good guess.
Not many collectors spending money these days so may struggle to make that.

Tony Glovers original machine spliced Stevenson, same as this cue, can be seen on this page.
Also note how the badge reads the other way, ie it is upside down to the hand spliced version.
