  • Looking for 60"+ Cue

    Hello!

I'm quite tall (6'10") and I'm looking for a long cue. I'm only a casual player (twice a week) hoping to improve his game a bit so I don't really want to be paying more than £50 - £60. Problem is I'm finding it a nearly impossible task. I don't reallly want to use extensions etc. I'd like the cue to be long (60") from the start. I've tried a push on extension once and it was definitely more comfortable for me.

I've just missed out on a ebay auction for a Dark Horse Myx 60" Unicorn Bone and Dragon blood blah blah. I get the impression that feelings on these ebay queues are mixed, but I just want to try a long cue. If it feels better and I get a better idea of what feels right I'll maybe get something more.. prestigious? I can't shell out for a £150 custom cue if in reality it doesn't make much difference.

TL;DR lanky n00b wants cheap, long cue cause he hopes it'll suddenly make him awesome. Any suggestions?

Have you sold to anyone else on the forum? For some references, reviews.

That's a custom made cue for one TSF member's friend.

Have a read of this recent thread:
          http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board...ad.php?t=28908

specifically there's some example calculations for cue length based on height/arm-span, and also Jim Evans offered to let someone trial a cue he made, which is 59 1/2 .. he might have a longer one you could borrow/trial perhaps. Worth sending him a PM to see

Hey Thanks, yeah I saw that thread, although I didn't do the maths at the time. I'll work it out shortly.

I don't think I can PM yet. I saw another post about having to make 10 posts? Once I've posted a bit more I 'll find out if he has any more. Thanks!

Thanks for that. That item must have just gone on ebay when you posted because it didn't come up in my search last night but it did after your post. Unfortunately it seems it's been withdrawn with no bids. Maybe someone offered direct to the seller?

Sorry, I'm slightly post whoring for the 10+ posts now, but I've just put the math to the test..on an office table using an imaginary cue..and I think I'm looking closer to 63"

The tip to bridge value was interesting for me as I'm sure I'm a lot closer than this. I presume that's to make up for the length of the cue..

Wish I'd found this forum sooner. Lots of food for thought!

                  Thanks

Wow Jim that would be really generous! I'd really like to try the 61 inch. Shall I PM you my details when I have enough posts? How shall I pay for postage? PayPal?
