just joined the forum sad to hear about mac ! i met him 20 years ago to buy a cue and i still use the same one to this day an exceptional peice of workmanship and i am proud to have it. i thought about getting a slight alteration on it recently so looked up mac but when i found out he had passed i decided that i would not get it done because i do not want any body else touching it.

I've never seen a Mac Chambers cue in person, but from what I've read, they are incredible cues.
Any GOOD cuemaker could do the work without messing it up, but I would suggest going to a top cue maker, such as Mike Wooldridge (He fixed a balls up on my cue). It will cost a bit more than some others, but the cue won't be ruined after, and he will do xactly what you want doing.

Anyone like to put some pictures up? Especially the cues in the house of the OP?

Mac Chambers Cue

Hi there,
I'm new to this site so this is my first post. I am lucky enough to own a cue made for me by Mac many years ago, so many in fact I'm struggling to recall when I actually bought it. It must be around 15 years ago. I have played pool in the Northampton town league for over 25 years and snooker on and off for a few more years...and have recently started to play snooker again more regularly....The cue is still as good now as it was when purchased it , perfectly straight and immaculate, a sign of quality if ever there was. If anyone is interested I would be happy to take some images of my cue and post them on here...maybe someone could date it more accurately for me. Loving reading the forum posts on here...keep up the good work..

I travelled to Rushden almost 30 years ago now to buy a custom made cue from Mac. I still play with this cue and It is still one of my most treasured possessions.

I remember going to Mac's house and spending time with him in his garage where he took pride in showing me the letters of recommendations from top Snooker Professionals of the 80's for whom he had made cues. I came to this blog today as I was just re-tipping my cue that Mac made for me. I also remember ringing him to ask why my cue was taking so long to make and he replied "young man, you have come to me to make you a great cue and I have not yet found the right piece of wood for you. I will not spoil my reputation by choosing any old piece of wood so if you want your money back then come and get it or alternatively, you can trust me to find the right piece of wood for you"! I waited and the cue still gives me enormous pleasure. (most of the time anyway :-) )

Mac was a lovely fella and the cue that he made for me is as good today as it was back in 1990/91 when I bought it.

Wow,these stories are fantastic . Craftsmanship was from a day when people took pride in what they created and didn't just think about the money. I think TW maybe one of the only cue makers about still who cares "purely" about the product he delivers?

I would say dont use the attachment function anyway as it notoriously difficult to manage

In ImgBB, change the "Embed Code" to "BBCode full linked", hover over the code, a "copy" will appear, click this.
Go to your TSF post and paste. You can repeat for multiple images in a single post.
