Ebony splitting at splices with shaft?!

    As promised a little follow up from seeing Stu today. He swapped the cue over no problems, it was decided that the ebony hadn't been dried properly so shrunk and split!
    Am now the proud owner of a 1 piece probutt plain ebony.
    Very pleased with both the cue and Stus cracking service. Highly recommended.

        I have had this problem frequently encountered.
        The screw system is too short, so the wood breaks.
        In the screw system, I cut thread..
        In which I glued a M10 threaded rod.
        This is how I extended
        The forward end of the cue was adapted for this, after the splice was restored.
