  • my Jim Evans cue

Hi all. A few of you may be familiar with a gent named Jim Evans on here. He recently sent me a cue he had made out of the goodness of his heart for me to 'trail' as i am playing around with specs before ordering a custom cue. i've been unhappy with my own cue for some time and i've enjoyed this cue from Jim so much to the point where i've now agreed to buy it from him and am selling my own cue next week.

Jim is a novice cuemaker, and whether by luck or judgement i havent played with a cue where i've found the shaft this responsive for quite sometime. All for me to do now is take it to crafstmen, hopefully on monday, to get a few minor alterations (Jim will Know what i mean re the taper!!) and this cue will more than see me through the next few months. and who knows, i might not even bother with ordering the expensive custom cue!

Anyway, the point of the post really is to let people know how helpful and much of a gentleman i have found Jim to be. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone see if he can help them in anyway, if anyone feels there in a similar predicament to what i was in....

I too have been a recipient of Jim's kindness, a true gent and maybe one of the cues he's left might be the one for me?

I tried the multi spliced cue last night Jim, I started off playing pretty well with it but soon got back to my poor self.....

Will try the 3/4 later and see how I get on with that!

p.s. you didn't play too badly with the JP on Saturday..

54 was best i managed in the quarters. baring in mind it was 1 frame knockout up till semi's which was best of 3 and final best of 5. by the time got to the semi's i was shattered and nursing a hangover to be fair so tightened my game up a lot! the draw was made at 1pm and it was nearly 9pm before i potted match ball and could barely stand!...

Now then Jim, what's this about you needing an ebony blank?

                            A bit stressed?
