Might just be my eyes playing tricks but in one of the close ups it looked like the ferrule was narrower than the shaft...?

I noticed that as well. wondered if a smaller ferrel had been heated up, put on the cue and allowed to cool down crushing the end a bit.

yep still the Cue Doctor (Gary Taylor) from Southend cue with four thick maple and ebony splices, which he has had since ~2009.
Tip size, not sure but a story goes that his previous cue had a tip about 8.5mm and he missed a pink for a 147 at the Crucible, so this cue is larger than that

I wonder if this cue is short as he does seem to bridge up very close to the cueball yet he olds the cue near the end of the butt. It looks more like maple at times because there isn't much grain to it. I thought he'd had this cue for years because I've only ever known him use this cue.

Just seen a shot of it and there is plenty of grain but is hasn't had the grain filled/stained with black which gives it a classic cue look.

How about stephen Maguire's cue? Last time I remember he used a Robin Cook... seems like he's trying something new once more. Sure is a beauty though!! Anyone got some details??
