  • To all the cuemakers........

Have any of you ever made a cue with Black Poplar? I'm asking as I've recently polarded a couple of trees and have some decent bits of it.

Jim Evans is having a few bits to see what he can do once the wood has stood for however long it needs too!

I am no specialist but isn't poplar wood too ligh and soft to be used for a cue?
I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

poplar is a hard wood but its one of the softest hard woods and not suitable for making
          cues.
