Thanks for your advice Tom, certainly no rambling there!

The difficulty I had was that after hearing/reading a lot of negative comments about his work I guess I wanted to give the opportunity to say some great things about him.

And off we go again for what it is worth i would not advise anybody to buy a KD cue as i have seen and played with one, the one that was sent to me was the worst cue that i ever came across and that is from somebody that has been playing and trading in cues for almost 28 years,

Who says I don't care about peoples opinions? It's important to remember they are just that though ..... opinions. In this case, it is yours that you need to trust the most, and you can only do that by meeting the guy and trying his cues.
Not strange. And why was another TSF member being ungrateful?

Thanks for the advice and support people.

Consider this thread closed because there is just NO WAY that I can have Keith make me a cue after the hearing such valuable 'opinion' and fact.

I brought a solitaire cricket bat. It was when they were lesser known and seemed to have a bad rep, but now, about 5 years on, they seem to be a very popular manufacturer and highly regarded.

my first cue was made by Stuart Surridge who is better known for making cricket bats.
I had a wooden joint, quite a lot of varnish on the butt

Me too; apparently he has 10 to choose from next week ranging from £150-400. I have spoken to a few good players in Dorset and he is a relative unknown; one who has seen one of his cues said it was well finished. My dealings with him have been good so far.

If you get to see them before me then let me know mate....and vice versa

As for his 'previous' .........I have disregarded; its the cue that counts
