Tweeten's of Chicago make them new but they are a bit pricey.

Try eBay in the US (ebay.com) and see if there are any on there at a better price

        Martin,
You used it much, i take it the US version your talking about only does 12mm upwards?
Am I correct thinking it needs a chuck for each size, so 9mm, 10mm, 9.5mm, all separate chucks?

Cue crafts site says they have 2 but they say they have none left.
              Peradon have discontinued making them.

Mmm May have to buy a lathe instead, just found it hard to find one long enough or with a big enough head stock bore to take the cue through.

I had one before which I sold to a member here. I only used it like twice or so.
You do not need a different chuck for different tip sizes as far as I can remember.
But I never tried to see if I can use it on 8mm tip. I only tried on a 9.5mm tip with no problem. I think you would need to change the blade after a while, and may be the spring, but the chuck should be good.

Airin, Just out of interest, How are you ferruling your cues, have you got a small lathe with a large bore that allows you feed the cue through the head stock and into the chuck?

Yes, I do it on a lathe. But I have done it with the ferrule tenon cutter without any problem either. I dont think you should spend extra on a lathe just to do ferrules if that is all you need to do. Just my opinion.

If your shaft is too skiny to fit into the chuck, a simple solution is to find a water hose with a diameter about the same as the size of the shaft and cut out a small portion to use as a collet before you insert the shaft in the chuck of the tenon cutter. You can have collets of various diameters made to fit different sizes of shafts this way. You can also cut a thin slit on the hose so it becomes a bit more flexible.

can someone tell me if i was going to take the tip size down on a cue from 10 mm to 9.5 mm would the cue need to be shortened in anyway or would it be left to the size it is and just shaved down a touch

No need to shorten it no, just the thickness is reduced, not length.

Did you get hold of a tweeten tenoning tool? If not, I have one which is new and unused with 2 chucks - 9-10mm diam cues and 11mm + cues.
