  • Not Cueless - Wooldridge Shark

After a few cueless years I am now the proud owner of a One Piece 2007 Mike Wooldridge Shark. This is my first step in trying to find the feel of my ideal cue to replace one that was stolen 6 years ago without me ever knowing the exact specs.

I have weighed, measured and balanced the cue and these are it's vital statistics:

    Length - 58"
    Weight - 18oz
    Tip Size - 9.5mm
    Butt Dia - 30mm
    Balance at 17.5"

I have arranged a few frames for tomorrow evening to see how it feels.

    Picture to follow....

Hope you enjoy your cue, Stupree. May you get on well with it and have many happy games with it.

Get yourself to the TSF game in June.

stupree Sounds nice. Fairly standard spec. Nothing too extreme. Would be lots of interest if you wanted to sell I think.

You wont be able to fault that cue, it is just a question of whether it's specs will be to your liking. Enjoy:snooker:

You're right Stick the cue is very nicely made I can't fault that. From first impressions the butt feels a little bigger than my previous cue and it is possibly a little heavier, I do like the taper of the shaft it feels nice and lean not chunky like some cues.

The proof is in the potting!

                Pics and Thoughts

Just back from trying to pot a few balls with the Shark and it plays very well, unlike me. It didn't take long for me to be cueing like we were old pals.

I managed to take a few pictures of the Shark in it's natural habitat

                  B&W Billiards Phantom

With the Mike Wooldridge Shark Cue sold I was awaiting the delivery of another cue, this being a B&W Billiards Phantom Cue. Yep they were a new name to me too and nothing to do with Burroughes & Watts.

The cue arrived a little worse for wear and showed a few years of neglect so I gave it a bit of a clean and oil to get it playable and playable it was. It felt very well balanced and I soon felt very comfortable playing shots

                  1 Piece Ash Shaft
                  58 1/4" long
                  9mm Tip
                  17 1/2 oz
                  29mm Butt Diameter

It has a stunning golden shaft with good chevrons, a nice Indian Rosewood butt with 4 Splices of Thuya Burr with Dark Blue Veneers. It looks stunning!

                  This is a keeper!

Thanks mate, it looks nice and more importantly feels very well balanced and I feel that I am playing very naturally with it. I think I have actually got lucky with finding this cue and have really enjoyed restoring it. It even came with a bent 1pc Alu case that I have managed to bend back to straight again. It was a real fixer-upper
