  • New Glover Cue

Arrived home yesterday to find my new Tony Glover cue propped against the front door (good work on that one DHL).

Used it in last night pool league games, just beautiful. Balance is spot on for me and just a feels so right. Was like I'd been playing with it for years straight out of the box.

Photos are a bit rough as they are from after middnight last night (after a few tequillas too)

    Spec
    59”
    18.5oz
    9mm ferrule
    29.5mm butt
    3/4 jointed at 12"

Thanks so much Tony. Really love your work.

Quite like the inlays/splices never seen that before, nice looking shaft too.
Does it play well? no SD joint though?

Plays like an absolute dream, like I said above the balance is spot and its silky smooth.

No SD joint no.. I'm just a lowly 8-ball player so no need for any extensions.

Did you ask for it to be made this way ?? ie with a very short butt as it looks kinda weird !! I thought maybe it was to keep the weight down on a long cue (59" is long for a pool cue isn't it ?) but its fairly standard at 18.5 oz
Just comparing it to my cue which is 58" butt jointed at 16" and mine weighs just over 19 oz

          >>Did you ask for it to be made this way ?? ie with a very short butt as it looks kinda weird !
Spot on what I asked for. 12" butt/18" splice length means its not as stiff as the 18"butt/25" splice, and moved the balance back slightly. Doesn't look weird in the flesh (in my opinion 12" isn't 'very short') . The angle of the photo down the cue makes it look like a bit of a chode, which it's not. I'll take some better snaps on the weekend.

          >>59" is long for a pool cue isn't it ?
Yer, most people use 57" or 58". Whilst not particularly tall at 6'2" I'm a tad... apeish... with an 79.5" wing span. Found myself hanging off the back of my old cue so went longer. I was worried it might be a bit too long so I bought a $20 59" cue to play with at home for a few months before ordering. Felt spot on so thats what I have gone with. (Planned the crap out of this cue for about 8 months before I ordered it - using all different lengths, weights, ferrule sizes etc.)

Unusual specs? Perhaps. But thats the beauty of bespoke isn't it! It's exactly what I want and would never have got it off the shelf anywhere.

16 weeks.. He had some really nice 22" long eboney he used on mine last year, the cue was a 60" and he had no problem with making it. From what I could see the couple of times I was there he does all the craft himself.

I would love to have another cue made by Glover, If you wouldn't mind Tony?
