    • Mmm but what is the right price, thats the golden question ha ha

Yep could try a Non Pareil style with alternate splices. Question is ebony for the front and back, but what wood for the side splices?
Wouldnt be anything too standard if you wanted to replicate an original, not sure exactly what the side splices were, possibly Mahogany?? Have got some 18 inch long squares of Padauk, would be far too red but would look nice.

      • Badges are coming along, Stupree is doing a grand job and i have been ultra fussy with getting the best from his engraving machine. Think he has done brilliantly. Cant wait to get them on some cues.

We could discuss price later by pm lol
Actually its more the idea of alternating splices that appeals to me, rather than the exact wood (i always thought it was plain old rosewood ??) so Padauk would indeed be a nice contrast and should look real nice all oiled up eh
If your up for it, we could talk money and specs (i wouldn't be too strict lol) sometime when your ready

The Lindrum Non Pareil splices, well 17 inches would do, no longer.

I hadnt thought about alternating splices yet, would have to be deadly accurate with getting the side splices right.
Ive made 2 cues so far and learnt a worlds worth of knowledge so let me bang a few more out and then have a go at that. The padauk I have got is very red and would look striking against the ebony, i was going to do a full butt out of it but have since thought it may look a bit washed out with no contrast against the ash.

                          • Jim, More like the 2nd posting. That looks to have the dark red colouring although its hard to tell.
Looks like JRC wants the splice pattern rather than the actual woods so shouldnt worry.
Evil looking splices them ones eh?

By the way, 14 is my birth date, lucky number, number of genital warts too. No 14 will be a special special cue.
Should hope that I will be up to the alternate splice thing by cue 14.
