Cue making diary
I grabbed them from him, £35 for 5 blanks + delivery seemed pretty reasonable to me. I am just waiting for him to tell me how much delivery is going to be.

Are these are 1.5inch square ash lengths, not tapered??

Bare in mind out of 5 shafts I only ended up with one that I was happy with.
Im not happy with about 7-8 inches above the splices where it isnt truly round.
I do have more sanding to do, I think I left too much wood on at the earlier stage. Need to sand about another 0.5mm off all the way down.
Ive now brought a bench sander which will help with the primary sanding.
Give it a few weeks to finish this one off, want to add a front splice as well and then I will start on the 2nd cue which will be easier and better.

ash blanks
the first ones i used were 2in square blanks, the next ones i used were from dave couttes first tapered then octogan shaped which pointed me in the right direction, then i had some rounded ones from craftsman cues basically because i was in a hurry to get the finished object so your all on the right lines, now lads its like your snooker you and myself must practice and more practice and hopefully we will get a finished cue which were really chuffed about, and when we think we have got it right we find what we think is a defect so we try again what we cant forget its took years and years for the top class cue makers to achieve what they have so 1 bit of advice dont rush

We may have a standard definition of these by the end of the day
