Looks great. 002 huh? I wonder how long before that number will be considered a 'legacy' cue

      • Well 001 sold, 002 sold, now working on 003.

003 will be ebony butt with a tulip front splice and a thick maple veneer.
Will post some pics mid week.

Ordered more wood, and maple is coming soon. Woo woo!

        • Looks awesome.. but 15oz? not too light? I think cuemakers adds some weight on 1pc cues, depending on density of wodd they use.

Yep, hadnt quite sussed the adding weight back then. Have now.
Its probably the hardest part to work out where and how to weight a cue.

                  • I really enjoyed following your diary. Top work, too. I can't imagine how much time they're taking you, though. It must take ages, no?

Its a big learning curve, things are getting easier and therefore quicker and better.
Its a labour of love for sure.

That said I have enquired into buying pre tapered shafts from Craftsman and various Chinese sources but no-one at the moment can supply as they are all too busy. This would have been an easier way to cut my teeth but then would I have ever learnt how to properly make a hand made cue, probably not.
i now have some - although they have gone pretty quickly! http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board...414#post584414
