Having read through the thread, I get the opinion that people seem to think that it can't possibly be the cue makers fault because he has a good reputation. If the guy has a good reputation (which I know he has) it doesn't mean to say that every single cue he produces is perfect. It means the majority of the cues he makes are of very high quality. I'm not saying it is the makers fault, but the cue obviously has something wrong with it, and at £450 I would want a perfect cue.

Agree with above post and think the OP is just relating some of the difficulties to be had ordering cues from halfway around the world, with shafts seasoned in a completely different climate.
I've had difficulties caused by sheer negligence, but that doesn't seem to be the case with Trevor and the OP hasn't implied that either.Last edited by eaoin11; 7 March 2011, 12:14 PM.Tear up that manure-fed astroturf!

FAO of everyone who has contributed to, or is interested in this post.....
I have only just returned to the UK tonight after some time away.
I will reply to the OP and will do whatever it takes to rectify any disappointment he has encountered over this issue.
I will also post some kind of response to some posts made by others here, just to clarify my own position on this matter.

I can see your frustration here, but tw is an awesome cue maker. A few things to consider. 1. do you live in a climate that is moist? 2. do you keep the cue at your club or take it in and out of buildings regularly? If so the atmosphere will play havoc with the wood. 3.Is your club air conditioned? again the changes in air quality will affect the cue. 4. is the cue kept in a steel long case (1 piece) or in a lined case? lined cases will generally be better but try changing from what you use at the moment. 5. Never lean a cue up against a wall, even for toilet breaks etc. lay it on the table between breaks. 6. Do you stand with your hands around the top or near the top of the cue and lean onto it? Your initial thought will be no but most people do and this will bend the cue over time. I place mine on my shoe so that it is softer on the butt end and try to remember to hold it half way down where the wood is thicker. 7.Never test straightness by rolling the cue on the table. It simply doesn't work. look down the cue. 8. Jimmy white could pot balls with a german sausage, so stop blaming the tools!!!lol. Hope this helps
