This is an excellent example of why you get to know your cuemaker, instead of a cue seller. A good cue maker will sell you what you need, while a good seller will sell you any thing he can.
I feel for ya, I have been saying this same thing for years, there are very few good snooker cue builders imo. what seems to pass for quality of finish and wood in the snooker world is not the same as what is expected from american cues. I have seen more bent ash cues than you can shake a stick at
