Need some advise on how to dry up new cue quickly

I just got new new cue from local cue maker It's a one peace ash cue...I think the cue still has much moisture in it maybe because cue maker doesn't dry the timber good enough during the production process....however I don't wanna wait for 30-60 days to let the cue dry up naturally

Any advice from you guys to dry the cue up more quickly and do not harm the cue?

You sure its not just been oiled or something?
Never ever heard of a cue maker sending out wet cues! (Who is it by the way?)
Just rub down with a bar towel and it should be fine

How do you come to the conclusion that the wood has not been dried?

Yes It's oil finished by a cue maker and he said to me that the cue will improve its feel and impact sound by the time cue is fully dried so I assume that the cue still has some sort of moisture in it. By the way, I had few cues before this one and I had this kind of situation... when I use the the cue for few months then it improve the impact sound and seems more solid.


My assumption could be wrong...because I quite newb for this so I just like your expert opinion from you guys

Sure it doesnt just feel slightly sticky rather than wet? Just wipe it over with a slightly damp cloth, then buff up with a dry one,do this every day for the first few says, then repeat this every time it starts to feel slightly sticky, an oiled finish can take a little while to fully cure.

Thanks alot for all your advices guys, I think it's because of oil finished like your guys mentioned so should I use just a clean towel to clean it or should I follow the way "brother4" maintain his cue? ....will alcohal have any harm on ash? by the way his cue looks nice and very glossy

I would recommend not to use any alcohol, acetone, or any chemicals--just a dry clean towel to buff up your cue from time to time gently should be all you need provided your cue was finished properly in the first place.
Sometimes oil might come back out from your cue and you need to wipe it off and then buff it up.
Your cue is a brand new cue, isn't it?
I believe the alcohol was used to clean up years of dirts on the shaft before the new oil finish was applied. It is not necessary in your case.
