  • Recognize type of splice from picture

I've read Mike Wooldridge explanation about hand spliced and machine spliced cues, but it didn't make sense for me. How to certainly decide what type of splice you see? I have a picture of my friend's Cue Craft maple cue, who can determine if it's machine spliced of hand spliced?

    Hand Spliced.

Yes definitely hand spliced, have a read of this guide which may help you understand better.

Hand spliced because it has round points.

It also looks like a craftsman cues badge not a cue craft

Yes, I was thinking about the same thing, looks like a craftsman rather than a cue craft.

          Mike S60,
You should be able to see a line between each ebony splices if you look closely at the ebony splices above the joint. It shows you that 4 seperate pieces of ebony splices were spliced onto the shaft. With a machine spliced cue, you will not see any lines between the ebony fingers.
