  • My new cues

Just received an email from Trevor saying my two cues are almost done and should be ready in about a week or so can’t wait.
I have been trying to find THE CUE for the last year or so and after getting my last cue from Trevor last august and being delighted with the quality of the cue I felt that’s it this is just what I wanted but then after a few months I started to feel that there was something just not right for me. With that in mind I decided to order another two cues with slightly different specs hoping to get it right this time. I am going to keep all three for a few months to get a really good chance to play and compare all three of them and then I will have to decide what one I’m going to keep and pass on the other two, so here’s hoping I have got it right this time.

In terms of look, my preference would be the powerglide connoisseur.

The use of cocobolo of as bottom splices is a cracking choice and looks an awesome piece.

Are all cues the same spec or different?

When I ordered my first Trevor White cue last year it was also my first custom made cue and I had a real hard time trying to figure out what specs to go for. I popped into craftsman as they had a big selection of cues and after a hour or so playing about with a few different cues I picked one I thought felt best and used the specs of this cue when ordering my Trevor White cue which were fairly standard specs (58”, 18.5 oz, 9.8mm and 29.5mm) when I received the cue I was delighted at first but after playing with it for a few months there was just a niggle that I would like to change something the problem was I dint know what it was that I wanted to change in the end I figured it was the butt thickness that was slightly to big and that I wanted to get a slightly slimmer taper. Rather than asking for the cue to be alerted I thought I would order another two cues with slightly different specs and hope that I got THE CUE so to speak.
Our season ends either tonight or next week (were in second leg of a semi final tonight) so the timing could not be better as ideally I wanted to play about with my cues over the summer and pick which one I liked best then pass on the other two before the start of next season.

I like the darker cocobola on that cue mate, very nice, just looks a bit more special than the paler shades of the same wood. (imo)
