purple heartwood

hay guys this is goin to sound really stupid but my girlfriend want a cue for her birthday and she's a very girlie sort girl ( bit if a princess ) i seen a cue some where that the butt was done in ebony and purple heartwood im not lookin to spend a mint because she's lucky to sink 3 balls a frame but bout £200 would be good. anyone know who would be best to get it done buy?

Andy Travis had a purple heartwood cue listed on eBay for about £140 with a custom name plate.

Andy travis has purple heart in stock so could do u another cue if the one stupree linked to is unavailable.

Im pretty sure he has done a couple of pink ivory as well.

Maybe 4 ebony splices followed by 4 purple heart plus a front splice of pink ivory??

Also check with craftsman for ur budget as they may have something.

Andy Travis has used purpleheart and pink ivory on cues , in fact I have a cue that is purpleheart for the butt with ebony splice and a maple veneer that Andy did.It is 3/4 and the whole butt and finger splices on the shaft are purpleheart.Andy did a really good job.One thing I would caution you over is that I have heard sunlight affects purpleheart more than other woods and it tends to fade.I have heard it recommended ,in the past, to use a uv stabilised varnish/laquer/finish whatever,to prevent premature ageing.This has not been a problem on my cue,but may be worth investigating further.I have contact details for Andy,if you want them.Hope this helps.

When do you need the cue for?
If there's a bit of time available then I have 4 splices worth of purple Heart and would make you a cue for £180.
