Just warning forum members that this is not a genuine Parris cue on ebay, so don't go bidding too high Splicing is wrong, & there should not be a spigot on the butt piece.

See pic for genuine Parris joint. The spigot (or screw thread bit) is always on the shaft on a Parris cue. This cue on ebay has what looks like an airlock joint (which Parris has never done) with the spigot on the butt. My guess is that someone has taken a cheaper cue and got hold of a genuine badge and stuck it in place of whatever was there before. Sneaky, but no doubt some people will bid very high on this, especially now snooker's on the telly and everyone wants to start playing lol

So many fake cues about nowadays, you just cannot be sure what you are buying anymore because cue makers need to do something more than just put a badge on to deter people from copying their cues.

For the record I think this cue is a mastercraft emerald gem, the splicing is exactly the same and of course the badge mastercraft use is nearly identical in size to a Parris badge so is easily transferable.

thanks for the info, i am a snooker fan, i watch what i can when im not looking after the kids, i play on a wednesday night for a social club team but i must admit i am not so clued up when it comes to cues so really appreciate it, i mean some peoples knowledge of cues on here is amazing and the price some people pay, i would love one day to afford such a nice cus as i have seen on here, but yea thanks for the heads up

Excellent call, knew it looked familiar.......so still a nice cue but unfortunately market dictates its only worth less than 50% of a Parris

Check here for pic and price of mastercraft gem cue, as you can see its a quality cue so the one on ebay pretending to be a Parris is still worth a decent bid, but as long as you know its not really a Parris then fine, but i guess some people will think it is, so will bid far more than anybody should.

its not an air joint its like a oval shape my friend has one on his cue and its sefo not english as well cos a cooper cue is just like that

Not that I'm aware of. I had a mastercraft cue a few years back and a friend of mine has the emerald gem model and neither extension would fit my Parris cue so I don't see they could supply each other as the thread is definitely thinner on a Parris.

I wonder why someone would take the badge off a genuine Parris? It's not likely one of these gems would be mistreated and get snapped in a fit of anger to free up the label:-)
