  • White spirit vs metal polish ( brass ferrule ).

    Hi all,

I have a really bad habit where I need the ferrule of my cue to be as shiny as possible, due to me feathering extremely close to the white.

I've found when I use white spirit on the brass, it retains it's shine for far longer than metal polish. Has anyone else tried this?

Just surprised it's worked so well ( so far ).

Isn't that a bit dodgy tho ?? you might get either of those on the shaft which won't be good for it. I'll stick to wire wool/2000 grade emery paper if i were you

Best I have Found is Very Very Fine Finishing Paper and Rub something down with it first til you get left with just abit of Shiney Finishing Paper with no Feel then get small piece and turn the Ferrule this looks Unreal when finished. You can also use the Shiney Finishing Paper to Burnish the Tip if you like aswell.

      Gaz.
