Saw this on FB last night. Stunning cue. Love the Thuya Burr front splice and matching mini butt!
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

                    • Any sign of jointed cues yet?

                      • Had a go at 4 lower splices on a rejected cue. Feel the top main splices are falling into place now, got that sussed so starting to have a play with 4 lower and will start looking at joint 3/4 cues soon.
Got some nice cues mid construction, will post pics in a few weeks.

                        • Getting there bud. That looks like tulipwood on the lower splices, which I'd have though a bit pricey to use as a tester. Still looks good though. I noticed one of the splices slightly out of alignment, but for a first effort it's a pretty good effort.

                          • Why not do a " sin bin " a la MW . You could offer these " rejects " and I am sure they would get snapped up.Just sell "as is " and un-badged.Your progress has been astounding and I am still drooling over what my cue will eventually look like, keep it up please.

                            • It maybe just the angle of the pic, the splice bottoms are within 2mm of each other.
The tulip on 3 of the splices is fairly tepid with little grain, wouldnt use it on a perfect cue. Used a decent bit for the top splice as only had 3 bits of not so good tulip.
Im not offering 4 lower splices to anybody yet, got more single splice cues to make and will have a further look at this in the new year. Want to make a mannock replica.

                              • I was going to put this out as a cheap unbadged cue to you guys but I s****hed the cue with the plane, see the mark in the ebony. Its too deep to take out so checked out the lower splices and chucked the cue from there on. Its actually stood very prominently in my workshop as a self warning to take more care with sharp tools!

By the way S****hed is a cue making term, its partly made up by a word that is heard when you bugger up a cue youve spent a few hours working on.
