      Hi Frazz.

Is it right that John uses a light cue of around 16 oz and quite short in lenght ? - also what size tip

His cue is light yes, not sure exactly as he had the butt re-spliced a few months ago to make it thicker but it normally is around 16 I think. It's about 55 maybe 56 inches in length and tip is 9.7mm

I have once suspected that JP was sponsoring the show as a couple of pros talking in front of the camera that they use Parris cues, but when it comes to Higgins's turn he mention his NW cue. It was by then I realized that it wasn't a sponsored TV commercial.

Players change tips all the time, its a bit like experimenting and finding something that works for you at the time. I noticed Ronnie had gone back to an Elk now as are a few of the players.
as i know Ding and Liang using blue diamond which made in US.

Shaun Murphy uses an elkmaster tip. A 10mm one trimmed down to the ferrule which makes it 8.75mm. Somebody asked him on twitter and he replied this morning. Hope that helps high break 8. Magician147 is twitter page.

I think only he and Matthew Stevens of the current top 16 use a tip size smaller than 9mm. Think Stevens is around 8mm. Really does surprise me that they can play at such a good level on these fine cloths and cue accurately and straight with such small tip size.

hendry, ronnie, bingham - elk master
wenbo, wattana, pengfei, guodong, and most chinese and thai- blue diamond
