re-finishing a cue

hi need some help ive asked about and not got much information back about how to give your cue a professional finish its an old cue that i dont really play with thats why i would love to have a go at finishing it myself im far from tight i would just love to try it my self and with it been a old cue i am willing to experiment on it so if any one has some advice i need it all step by step and what products are best ect btw its from bare wood to finished product
