restoring an old cue

hi all

i have an old jp mannock cue, thing is the tulip wood splices are quite dark and wondered if its worth sending to a cue doctor to give it a clean and polish?
its quite tidy just the splices have lot their colour?

int it normaly a shade of red like a padouk that dont look as if it will come up reddish,might just be a different wood

i thought was tulip but doesnt look like it, dunno if worth sending to be cleaned up?
