Feel sorry for both you and robin if its lost. He's gotta now go through all the hard work again and you have another long wait, that is if you decide to have another made up?

It has happened to me but worse.

Delivery turned up on tuesday, was signed for etc. I was out of office tuesday, got to office wednesday, they said, delivery turned up for you yesterday.

I joked, long tube was it haha.

tube was their, split end, no cue in tube, was lost. I am still gutted now.

I got a refund from the cue company which was dunns cues.

I dont know what was happening with them claiming from courier. I left that to them.

Just annoyed the cue was lost as was a custom cue and great price.

                Have they found ur cue?

I hope it does too. It is very gutting.

                        Especially after 30 weeks.

City link had some problems with their computer system some time last week I believe, so perhaps that has something to do with it being "missing".

If it has been collected, they will have a form of tracking for it if it's still in their syatem, so "should" know exactly where it is if it's not been delivered.

In this situation, it's difficult to prove where it has gone. If it was signed for though, I would assume the person signing could feel whether they were signing for an empty tube or not, so would take a guess that the cue had got there ok. If a cue maker took that exact situation at face value, no end of people "could" remove the cue after signing for it, only to go on and inform the maker that the tube was empty. I would certainly not cover the cost of re-making that cue. Can't speak for others.

As for recent experiences with this sort of stuff.....

A cue I sent went missing after a TNT driver signed (fraudulently) the recipient's name for a package, and, wrote a note on the same card stating that he'd left the package at the persons back garden gate. Sure enough, when the person gets home, sees the card and goes to look for the package, it isn't there. Why the hell would anyone sign for thier package, and then ask the driver to leave it behind their back garden gate.???....What a moron.
TNT were UTTERLY useless over it and although the driver was apparently dismissed after an investigation because of his actions, it still didn't solve the real problem for me or my customer and find the cue.

The sad fact is that if this happens to me again, I'll will insure every package that leaves me for a very high figure to cover "every" cost of replacing any cue which goes missing. This cost wil be passed onto the customer, and it won't be cheap.

Hopefully, this kind of stuff remains a very rare occurance and shipping costs can be kept to a minimum.

Perhaps I should have said its also not the cue makers/companies fault either.

The fault lies with the courier company to me they are liable for the money. If I was the sender of the cue, I would going absolutely mad at them.

Obviously this was a difficult situation as the cue was not in the tube, the tube was in fact heavy in its own right and when I picked it up out of the server room, i had no immediate reaction thinking that it doesnt feel the right weight.

I hope that nobody else has any problems like this its not a nice situation.

I also hope you cue turns up hotpot.

Has Robin said about getting the money from courier company etc?
