Dear all,
Please see pictures below of my "Special" Parris cue (3/4 ash shaft) - made for me in 1999. It is 59" long, 10mm tip - not certain of the weight but will be close to 19oz. The butt has a decoration you will not find in Parris' range - it's based on Stephen Hendry's Parris cue - minus the amboyna burr face splice (ie single face with green veneer and 4 secondary splicings in african ebony with green veneers - this decoration was added to the original plain ebony butt in 2009). If you wanted the amboyna face splice adding to the cue so it is the same as Hendry's cue butt, John Parris informed me that it would cost approx. £80 to be added to this cue.
Brand new, this would cost in the region of £610 incl. extensions. There is a very small dink in the shaft below the ferrule as shown in one of the pictures below - this does not affect the cue one jot. The cue is in superb condition, as straight as when purchased, has the trademark red glue colouring on the end of the ebony splices above the joint and of the 12 years I have owned it, 7 of these years the cue was untouched due to leaving and then returning to the game (I'm 26 and A-Levels then Uni took my eye off the ball so to speak!!). This cue was re-ferruled and re-tipped in 2009 - incidentally if you are concerned about the dink below the ferrule (and I stress wholeheartedly that this does not affect the cue one bit), Parris will re-ferrule and re-tip the cue for less than £30 and correct the dink in the process.
Finally, the reason for selling. In February I ordered an Ultimate cue from John Parris. I am expecting to collect this in the next 6-8 weeks and OK I would like some return on this cue but genuinely I want to concentrate solely on having one cue without thinking about how well I can play with this "Special" cue. I have, to date, compiled 10 centuries with this cue, incl. my high break - a total clearance of 127.
I'm also willing to throw in my Peradon 3/4 Black leather case which I bought at Christmas last year - cost £130. There is a loose catch that I am about to get sorted at the front of the case which is a £5 job I'm told, otherwise as new condition). In all, this package would cost new around £740 (£540 cue, £70 Parris extensions and £130 case).
Please let me know if interested. Ideally, I am looking to clear payment for the new Ultimate case I have ordered from JP, and train fare to London and back from Loughborough where I'm based (a whopping £75!!) So, I'm ideally looking for a figure of around £400, which I feel is reasonable.
To confirm, I am looking to sell the cue, short mini-extension, long telescopic extension and the Peradon 3/4 case (with the loose catch fixed).
