was just wondering if there any cue makers out there that think beefwood would look nice on a cue

    http://www.hobbithouseinc.com/person...s/beefwood.htm

i have a log at the farm that was cut and stored about 30 years ago i guess its prob about 1/2 a cubic meter. and now its listed as a endangered species and u cant cut it down because its very strong/dense as well a poisonous to termites so the farmers cut it all down for fence posts

its got the grain with the little eye things all through it like the one in the pic and its just a log that's been rebarked and stored in the rafters its about 650mm dia and 4.5/5m long. i had a second one but used a rip saw portable mill to cut it into 120mm slabs to make coffee tables for my sisters and mum

Hi Jay, I like the last pic of the bowl, looks great. I guess with the wood being seasoned for so long there wont be any problems with shrinkage and being a dense wood it should work well on a cue. If you decide to do something with this I would be interested in the results. good luck.
