What wood do you recomend

Looking for some help on this one..After removing all the old Tulip[ wood from my old cue then i cant make up my mind on what type of wood to re-splice on to the cue...so any suggestions are welcome.

Snake wood with a single quilted maple veneer

Amboyna burl over thick Masur birch and thick ebony veneer would look good imo

cocobolo or macassar with thick maple veneer would get my vote.

Looking at the pic the butt looks 'square' from what i can see.

And if you look closely you can see where the tulip splices have been shaved from the ebony.

So i'm guessing warren will be splicing it x4 at least...

hi again warren looking at cue pic with ebony still on you dont need 24in anyway,measure from bottom of butt to were you have planed add about 10mm-20mm for length needed,then measure bottom of butt were its square across the oposite flats if its about 18mm you will get away with a veneer and the padouk

The cue was an old 1 maybe 60 years old..the tulipwood that was on it had been re-spliced at one time and it wasn't done very good.I think Stevie Wonder done it ! So i just removed all the old tulip wood and now i am looking to re-splice some other nice wood on to the cue.
