  • Best budget cue for beginner?

Hi, just joined the forum...1st post. Ive recently been enjoying getting back into snooker again after quite a long break. I want to purchase a new cue as my current cue is warped (second hand) and the ones off the rack at my club aren't much better!

Nothing expensive, £50 absolute maximum. Just needs to be straight! 3/4 would be best I think with an option to screw in mini-butt/ extensions. I like a cue with a little weight in it but Im not at any level where I couldnt just get used to a lighter one. Ive looked in places like Argos and high street shops but im at a loss to pick something half decent. Is there anything half decent on ebay?

I realise some of you guys are into your handmade cues... early days for me though!

    Thanks in advance

      If Andrew doesn't have anything...

I play a lot more pool than snooker so I have a cheap snooker cue bought from ebay, I've bought a few in my time. Couple of the cues I've bought were:

      Titan
      &
      Waslin

Again these are cheap so you can't expect anything great but I've got on well with the ones I've bought. If I were you I'd try get one of the above (or something similar) then maybe re-tip and re-finish, like I did.

Might be an idea to check out this ebay store: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/snooker_loopy/

I've noticed the Titan ones there now are a fair bit more expensive than I paid! But you should be able to pick one up for about £50.

What about something like this, includes a free case. Its a Paradon which is a good make for the money, ive never bought from that retailer so you would have to do your own research. Just check the lengths are right for you with any cue you buy online pl;us the weight and tip size etc.
