  • should i get a telescopic extension with my cue

i am having a cue made, and have been offered a telescopic extension that will screw into the butt of the cue for £38, is it a worthwhile investment, or is it just something that will stay in the cue and hardly ever get used?

    cheers

Well worth getting mate . I find the ones in the clubs don't fit the butt of some cues . Assume due to the amount of use they get .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

I found that telescopic extension is more useful than mini-butt and neil is right about the clubs ones don't fit properly. Most of the time they are too loose once fit in

Most certainly a good investment. There's not often a practise when I don't use mine

O yeah , what cue are you getting made, and who's making it A few pics when it's done if possible ? :snooker:

Definitely a good envestment, ok it may not get used that often but when you need it is pricely
I have one of those push-on-tele for many years (which I used to leave down the club) but since getting the new 1pc cue that had a joint in the butt, I decided to get a screw-in-tele recently from Mastercraft. It arrived last week and I have used it in anger twice to great success
The difference between the push-on and the screw-in was noticeable to me, especially the feel was much better and the confidence to do the shot just-right. Also the screw-in fits in the case nicely, where the push-on did not.
          Up the TSF! :snooker:

It is one of those things that when you have it you feel like you are never going to use it but when you do not have one you feel like you always need it. :-)
It is pretty much standard equipment today to have a telescopic. It helps a lot because it is connected to the cue via a screw so it is more solid than the push on. Besides, you cannot count on having a good push on extension or a long extensions with a good tip that is straight at the club you play at all the time.
When you try to sell your cue it also adds value and can make the sale easier.

i think it's a worthwhile investment to get a screw-on telescopic extension... i use it more often than my mini-butt. perhaps it's down to my style of play, i.e. out of position most of the time...

it may stay put in your case for any length of time but when you need it to pot that hard to reach shot to win the frame, well, it'll be there.

use mine more than the minibutt

miles better than using the shaky half knackered tree trunks at the side of the table when you dont have one.
