Nice collection Jason, i read on your site that some are replicas, so which original ones would you kill to get your hands on ? & which one cost you the most ? which ones are you still hoping to track down ??

Great collection How long has it took you to get that many ? How much did that collection cost ? I could spend a long time looking through these haha

Around 30 out of close to 100 are replicas made by Tony Glover.

My faves are the R W Hatton Champion and Sabre. This was a guy who worked at Burroughes and Watts on Bench no3. He left there and started his own cue making business, within a few months he was tragically killed in a car accident.
His brother gave me the 2 badges and also quite a few others that he had amassed in his tool chest from Burroughes.
Funnily enough, just talking to Frank Sandall about this guy a few weeks ago. He knew him well.

The one id like but will never have, a Madame Strebor. I have had the cue but it was in great condition.

One pointer, Ive never taken a badge off a cue that hasnt been literally broken in half or split beyond repair.

          Taken about 4-5 years.
I guess most badges are worth £20-£40 each.

As Mike knows, I have actually brought cues that have blatantly the wrong badge on and taken the badge off, kept the badge and sold the cue onward as badge-less.

Ditto - hence the alec brown there! Did you see the couple of glued on badges on cues sold on ebay recently? One Willie Smith cue and one Peall.. couldn't see if the badge on the Smith belonged but the Peall looked a definite 'any cue will do'.

I saw the Peall and was gonna bid as it was about 20 quid up to an hour before but then jumped up to over 50 odd.

Lovely collection, will you be making cues with a similiar type of badges?
                          :-) thanks for sharing these.

Airin, I did consider it but just square badges just dont seem to be 'fashionable' these days.
