  • New ferrule for my Trevor White.

    Hi everyone,

I dented the very end of the ferrule on my Trevor White cue when I had a bad miss-hit of the cue ball. Its not really that bad but its causing my tip to hang off the edge very slightly after a couple hours of play and when I'm cueing I can see the tip sticking out which puts me off.

I've contacted Trevor to see if he can fit a new ferrule on (a stainless steel one if possible) but I haven't had any responce yet, I know he is a very busy man, but I do want the work done ASAP. I can only wait so long before the Kamui tip becomes totaly unplayable.

Does anybody know anyone within a reasonable driving distance from Wigan that I could take the cue to have the work done?

    Hope someone can help

    Thanks

Chers Jaffa.. I thought Kevin at northwest cues stopped trading. I'll try give him a call because that would be pretty handy if he can do it, I spend quite a bit oif time in preston at the other halfs anyway so it won't be too far from hers.

Kevs workshop is at Freckleton.A new telephone number was posted on the forum not so long ago by " detroitman" at the end of May.I have visited Kevs workshop frequently and it is worth a visit,Kevs a gent. His postcode is PR4 1RB if you have a satnav.I " STRONGLY" advise you to phone first and ask for proper directions as the workshop is not easy to find,it is just a mizzen hut on a small industrial estate behind some houses.Good luck, hope this helps.

I was at Kevin's yesterday needed some weight taken out of the butt as it was butt heavy for my taste had the cue for 7months could'nt get the feel right. So set off and evin did it there and then tooka load of lead from the butt then made a dowel it go in the void and then put the new SD connector in suberb work and took no time at all, Kevin is great at what he does and also told me he has a new glue for his splices that does not leave any colour residue as did his old one.

Detroitman, thats interesting as i'm considering having some of the weight taken out of my cue which is incidentally a North West cue.

Is yours a 3/4 cue, does it have a screw thread in the butt ? I was just wondering how Kevin at North West cues removes weight from the butt when it has a screw thread in the bottom and a joint at the other end of the butt ? Does he have to remove either the brass joint or the screw thread in the bottom to remove the weight ?

Mine is a 1piece and he had to drill out the SD joint as 3/4 are made in a different way I'm not too sure, but I'm sure that Kevin will know too. What a differece it's made to my cue the balance point has move much further up the cue and now has that "FEEL" I was looking for top bloke is Kevin hope that helps Stig. Regards detroitman
